Oh so I’d have you believe

Can you hear that? That buzzing sound? It’s a kind of a crunching vibration coming through the ground.

Or so I’d have you believe.

Can you see it? A brow furrowed slightly deeper than bitchy resting face. An impatience quicker than passers by deserve. An interrupter who wholly gives away that he doesn’t know what it’s like to be heard. I’m sorry if I cut you off, it’s just I don’t know how not to.

Or so I’d have you believe.

I like this. Sitting here trying to give all my anger to a phone. There’s safety in digits, because I know how dangerous a voice is. Nothing has to change in these solitary moments. Purposefully removed from the world, sealed in with headphones and general air of malcontent the world knows to avoid. Fantasising that the grass is greener, imagining a world where all the what ifs you want come true. I like it here.

Or so I’d have you believe.
